Dia De Los Muertos and Harvest Fest 2018

Hello, Room 101 families!

Happy Fall! Once again we had a very successful harvest fest celebration. The weather was nice and we had so many parent volunteers. Thank you to everyone that helped and participated. The children were very happy collaborating and socializing with everyone. Our room worked really hard on creating yummy food for the occasion. We read the book, Pumpkin Soup, which talks about working together and being a contributor. Reading this book made more meaning to us making our very own pumpkin soup. The cranberry bread we made was from the recipe our previous class had researched and created.

We also celebrated Dia de los Muertos. Ms. Castillo was able to read and share how her family celebrate this holiday. She created an ofrenda for us. We had a very solemn Sunset meeting where everyone shared a family member or pet that they miss. Thank you very much, Ms. Castillo.

It truly was a beautiful way to spend time with everyone and find our interconnectedness.

Enjoy the photos and see you at school!

We are 101!
