Black History Month Celebration

Hello, Families!

It was very busy at Suder with celebrations and events the last several weeks. We had a school-wide representation of expectations for common areas at school. We talked about the expectations and the reason why it is important to follow these rules. Our EC students have been practicing really hard in keeping safe and respectful of themselves and others.

We also have been collaborating with E1 classrooms. Some of our Kinders and some 1st graders have been visiting each other's classrooms to read and showcase their completed works.

Last week, we had a wonderful Black History Month celebration. Our Early Childhood family shared presentations in their respective classrooms. This year, we showcased musicians, athletes, authors and change makers. Families and students had an amazing time learning from each other. We also had our music teacher, Mr. Jablo and his E2 class lead us in singing beautiful songs that definitely touched everyone. As a whole school, Suder had a musical assembly that highlighted different musical genres. All of our performers were awesome!

After school, Friends of Suder hosted the Taste of Suder. We saw colorful costumes and tasted wonderful foods from around the world. The Taste of Suder is one of my favorite events at school.

Enjoy the photos and see you at school!
