Here We Go! SY 2018-2019!

What a great start of the year! It has made my heart full to see old and new students start school last week. Personally, I'm always so nervous on the first day of school. I think that's a good thing though. =) I feel so much eagerness to meet everyone and welcome them to our community. I would like to thank our families for their support and flexibility with procedures and routines. Ms. Castillo and I are here to work alongside you for the success of your children. We are both excited to work with all of you. Let's make this our best year yet!

Our kindergarteners (red group) have been amazing welcoming our new students. They have been showing presentations to both new K's and younger students in our room. Our 4-year olds (blue group) are working their way into becoming a great support to our 3-year olds (green group) while they get comfortable to their new school environment. Our students are learning about their Montessori environment and the work cycle. If you are interested in reading about this, please click on the link here and here. (At Suder, we have a 2-hour work period). Everyone has been welcoming and are quickly getting to know each other. Please enjoy these photos from last week.

See you at school!

Some housekeeping notes:

  • If you need to reach us with questions or concerns, please direct them to our CPS email instead of our Remind app. We can use Remind for quick comments, picture share and reminders. This instruction is from administration.
  • Please remember to check your child's communication folder daily for important school notes. You may also use the folder to send us notes with questions and concerns.
  • Please send a written note (placed inside the folder) if your child was absent. This note will be sent to the office to make the absence an excused one.
  • Thank you for all the families that sent their student forms in. These are important paperwork that the school will need as soon as possible. Please send them in if you haven't done so.
  • If your child is a preschooler, please review this post on nap procedures.
  • Some families have asked about our classroom wish list. We have a few live Donorschoose projects here and here. We also have an Amazon wish list.  Thank you for your support!
